Bradford City 2 Leeds United 0

Bradford City turned out to be the more convincing side in their West Riding Senior Cup tie, beating the labouring Leeds United. The Leeds newcomer Linighan had a sound first half but struggled like most of his side later as City tightened their grip in the second half. harvey was busy and safe in goal, Aspin worked hard to hold Leeds togetherin defence while Watson covered a lot of ground in his efforts to pep up the disjointed in attack Second Division side. Ritchie and Sellars went close but a bad miss by Sheridan in the later stages completed a disappointing afternoon for Leeds while City gained more encouragement from their workmanlike display. Hendrie, from Coventry, was a spirited raider while Evans, from Halifax, did a good job in defence for City for whom Campbell produced a typical headed goal in the fifty-sixth minute. He then supplied the centre for City's second goal by Ellis in the closing stages.
